A LARGE JADE PENDANT (HUANG), LATE EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY China, 4th-3rd century BC. Finely carved on each side with interlocking C- and S-scrolls, terminating with a pair of dragon heads with squared snouts, the pierced jaws exposing fangs and curled beards, reticulated through an additional flange depicting two confronted phoenixes, the jade of buff color with scattered russet inclusions. Provenance: From an Austrian private collection. Condition: Good condition with some wear and minor nicks and nibbles to the edges. Nicely grown natural patina with an unctuous surface.
