A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE PENDANT OF A MYTHICAL BEAST, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. Celadon jade with russet inclusions and dark brown veins, which have been nicely integrated in the artistic composition. The recumbent mythical beast is carved with flattened sides, the head with an articulated nose and open mouth revealing a pair of sharp pointed fangs. Provenance: Canadian private collection. Condition: Good condition with minimal traces of use, old wear and a fine patina.
