A CARVED JADE PENDANT OF A LOTUS BOY, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The jade is of light grey color mottled with black inclusions. The carving depicts a recumbent boy holding a large lotus leaf by the stem, which serves him as a pillow. Note one minuscule piercing for suspension.
