A FINELY ENAMELED 'IMPERIAL CONCUBINES' BALUSTER VASE, REPUBLIC PERIOD China, 1912-1949. Inscribed with a poem by the Tang dynasty artist Wang Changling, referring to the loneliness of the palace concubines who cannot await the visit of the Emperor. Provenance: From the estate of the late Anne Marie Wood (1931-2019), Warwickshire, United Kingdom, acquired no later than the 1990s. Condition: Perfect condition with only minimal wear.
