A GOLD KOFTGARI DISH WITH THE IRISH COAT OF ARMS QUIS SEPARABIT North India, 19th century Of circular shape, on straight circular foot, the rim reinforced, the dish fully decorated with a triumph of gold-inlaid ( koftgari ) scrolling tendrils and vegetal motifs, the centre inlaid with the Irish coat of arms Quis Separabit (Who will separate us?) and the inscription in English 5th Royal Irish , the motto usually associated to the Order of St. Patrick and to a number of British Army guards such as Royal Dragoon Guards, Royal Ulster Rifles and the Irish Guards, the back inlaid in silver with crisscrossed patterns, 20.5cm diam.
