It is supposed to have been produced by F.H. Ayres or G.&J. Lines thanks to some distinctive features: the shape of the hardware used to fix the iron rods and that of the pillars supporting the Safety Stand mechanism. This mechanism, patented by Marqua in 1880, was considered to be safer than the arched swing which, due to the acceleration caused by the rush of young riders, caused it to soar with their consequent capitulation. Another sign of recognition is the fineness of the carving and anatomy of the thin legs and muzzle and in particular in the jaw, an important detail because often, due to the eagerness in pulling the reins, it was broken. It is rare, but not unusual, in fact to find a horse with its jaw intact, as in our case, an element that emphasizes a loving use and careful care, also given by the repainting in later times that shows the color of the spotted cloak typical of the Victorian era. As per tradition, the horse has been given a name by the current owners, since its identity card has not been received, nor are there any obvious trademarks or engravings.
