「雍正年制」四字楷书款清代以前未见此类胭脂水釉品种，直至康熙末至雍正初期，造办处才成功研制出了呈色红紫的珐琅彩釉并亦将其作为原料用于早期之料彩瓷釉之中，亦称“蔷薇红”、“洋金红”或“玫瑰红”，着色淡雅者为“胭脂水”，浓重者则称“胭脂紫”。陈浏《陶雅》评论有“胭脂红也者，华贵中之佚丽者也。……匀净明艳，殆亡伦比。紫晶逊其鲜妍，玫瑰无其娇丽”。
