(2) Felipe Sanchez (Spain, Puerto Rico, 1893 - 1971) Framed watercolors. Signed and titled in lower portion. Sanchez studied at the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid and was a student of Spanish artists Antonio Munoz Degrain, Cecilio Pla, and Julio Romero de Torres. Before coming to Puerto Rico in 1933, he traveled through several countries in the Americas. In 1934, he became director of the art school established in San Juan by the Puerto Rico Relief Emergency Administration. His works were exhibited in the Casa del Arte, at the Ateneo Puertorriqueno, and at the University of Puerto Rico. Sight Size: 12 x 15 in. Overall Size: 21 x 25 in.
