A Meissen porcelain figure of a male pagode Figural incense burner with hollow base and open mouth. Partially clothed figure and finely painted figure in a pale yellow loincloth and a cloak with delicate “indianische blumen”. Unmarked. Minor firing cracks. H 9,8 cm. Modelled around 1710 - 13, decorated mid to second half 18th C. Literature Cf. the same model in Böttger stoneware in cat.: The Arnhold Collection, Meissen Porcelain, London 2008, cat. no. 34. Sitzender männlicher Pagode Porzellan, polychromer Emaildekor, Vergoldung. Figürliches Räuchergefäß mit offenem Boden und weit geöffnetem Mund. Die Figur teilweise bekleidet, der Rock in zartem Gelb, der Mantel dekoriert mit feinen indianischen Blumen und purpurnem sowie goldenem Saum. Äußerst feines Inkarnat. Ohne Marke.
