A Meissen porcelain figure of a seated pagode with a parrot Male figure in an exotic hat holding a parrot and a fan and seated cross-legged on a small octagonal plinth. His pale red cloak decorated with “indianische blumen”. Unglazed base with faint traces of a mark in underglaze blue. Chips to the rim of the base, tip of the foot and both hands restored, the tip of the hat replaced. H 18.2 cm. Modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler, 1761. Männliche Figur mit exotischem Hut, Papagei, Fächer und gekreuzten Beinen auf einer schmalen oktogonalen Plinthe sitzend. Das hellrote, gelb gefütterte Gewand reich verziert mit indianischen Blumen. Der Boden abgestrichen, mit schwachen Resten einer Blaumarke Schwerter. Chips am Sockelrand, Fußspitze und beide Hände restauriert, die Spitze des Huts ersetzt. H 18,2 cm.
