A Chinese pale celadon jade 'lotus' cup, late Ming dynasty, the cup formed as a lotus flower carved in high relief and open work with a 'chilong', smaller flowers and tendrils, the stone of even tone with some russet veining and white inclusions, W.13cm, associated wood stand Condition: The jade cup has some natural inclusions to the stone including some russet and white veins to the tendrils and dragons. There is a sharp point to one of the leaves on the base which may have been re-shaped at the tip slightly otherwise in good condition with no restoration detected. Provenance - from a U.K. private collection and believed to have been purchased from John Sparkes Ltd.
