PORCELAIN GRES VASE MOULDED IN THE IMITATION OF A GOURD / DOUBLE GOURD AND COVERED WITH CELADON, HULUPING
China, 19th or 20th century period
Heavy pottery. Moulded in imitation of a gourd / double gourd. Resting on a short flared foot, hollow underneath, double-bellied, with a trumpet neck flanked by two handles forming a Chi dragon, the lip thick and protruding. Moulded decoration of two confronting dragons, a pair of bats framing a Shu / longevity character and banana leaves at the neck. Mark stamped on the underside (missing in the handles, splinters at the foot, hole at the base of the belly for earlier electrification).
