Ming Dynasty Wanli Period, blue and white Florals porcelain jar. The Finest porcelain in feminine shape, the shape having large and wide ovoid body, thick potted, gently swell on shoulder into a feminine waist that extends all the way to the bottom, short cylindrical neck with flared opening mouth rim, raised on round flat foot base. All reserved in clean white underglaze base colour which contrast against the cobalt fine blue colour. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. Its colour does not easily fade and durability is longer. It used cobaltous oxide as the colorant. Patterns were directly painted onto the inner body and burnt after glaze was applied on it. The main body delicately florals and stones .The shoulder festooned with patterns and flowers ,The neck decorated with curling leafy pattern. And the foot base rim painted with geometric rectangle and auspicious pattern, The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with greyish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks.
