Giacomo Benevelli, Italian 1925-2011; Kyklos Orizzontale, 2009; bronze, signed, dated 2009, and numbered 25/100, height 19cm (ARR) Provenance: Private Collection, London Exhibited: 'Shanghai Night' Open Art, Shanghai September- October 2010 (another edition) Note: Benevelli belonged to the Milanese Abstraction School. He first moved to Rome after World War II, where he graduated from the Art School of Academy of Fine Arts. In 1959 he became an apprentice to the painter Mauro Reggiani and to the sculptor Cesar Poli. Throughout the following periods he would move from Rome, Milan and Paris. In 1964 he was included in the XXXXII Venice Biennale. His works can be found in a number of private and public collections including, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp and the British Museum, London.
