Noel Baltazar a Paris The elaborate case surmounted by a classical urn festooned in laurel swags over an oak wreath framing the dial, set on an architectural base with festooned Ionic pilasters, foliate finials and a rocky base, the open lattice-framed side panels allowing the sound out through silk backing, on a shaped base and conforming ebonised wood plinth on lions paw feet, centred by the seated figure of a cherub playing the harp, the signed 3.5 inch white enamel dial with outer Arabic five minutes enclosing a minute band and Roman hours, with fancy pierced and engraved hands, the circular clock movement with extended plates to accommodate the twin barrels united by five turned tapering knopped pillars, signed in full, with anchor escapement and silk suspension, the outside countwheel with hand engraved numerals and striking on a bell, the separate chain fusee musical movement set below and activated via a push rod. The musical movement with shaped rectangular plates united by turned pillars and playing a run of twelve bells and nineteen hammers set horizontally in the base. Ticking, striking and playing a tune. Sold with a silk suspension brass pendulum. 50cms (19 1/2ins) high. (2)
