* A GROUP OF NINE CALLIGRAPHIC COMPOSITIONS IN PERSIAN SHIKASTEH NASTA’LIQ SCRIPT PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT PRIVATE EUROPEAN COLLECTOR Iran, 19th century Pen, pencil, opaque pigments, ink and gold on paper, the content of the calligraphic group mostly of poetic nature, the folios in a variety of pagination, some bearing calligraphers’ signatures, including Mirza Saba Tafreshi, Mohammad Shafi’ Khorasani; some with attributions to Darwish Safavi, Mirza Kuchak Visal Shirazi, and Mirza Abdullah Mo’tamed ud Dowla ( shikasteh and ta’liq scripts) on a collaged folio; one folio dated 1297AH (1880), two stamped on the verso ‘ Avenue Naderi Magasin Taban ’, the largest 32cm x 21cm, the smallest 17.5cm x 11cm.
