Five dynasties/Northern Song dynasty Potted with an ovoid body divided by six pairs of vertical ribs rising from the waisted foot ring to the stepped shoulder, surmounted by the wide trumpet neck, supporting the strap handle opposite the elegantly curved spout, the shoulder applied with two opposing, tapering tabs, pierced through the middle for the insertion of a handle and molded on the ends with floral sprigs, the pale gray body covered overall with a transparent straw-yellow glaze. 9 1/4in (23.5cm) high
