An ovoid Satsuma vase and cover Meiji era(1868-1912), circa 1900 Decorated in colored enamels and gilt, with three registers of continuous designs, the central band with four fan-shaped panels with courtiers in interiors, all against clusters of chrysanthemum blossoms arranged in cloud patterns, the upper and lower registers featuring groups of men and women, or children engaged in the noble pursuits, the shoulder painted with a brocade collar and the foot with a band of floral lappets, the slightly domed cover decorated with butterflies and finished with a chrysanthemum finial, signed on the underside in impressed seal-form signature Kinkozan tsukuru 5in (12.7cm) high
