Dutch School, 17th Century Style Two Genre Scenes Manner of David Teniers II (Flemish, 1610-1690), Seated Man Playing Violin, unsigned, oil on panel, 10 1/2 x 8 in. (26.8 x 20.5 cm), unframed; Manner of Adriaen Jansz van Ostade (Dutch, 1610-1685), Young Man with Jug, Raising a Glass, unsigned, oil on panel, 6 3/4 x 5 5/8 in. (17.0 x 14.5 cm), framed. Condition: Violin with abrasions, hairline crack to panel l.l., gouge to reverse of panel l.r., old retouch, heavily varnished; Glass with scattered dots of retouch, fine craquelure. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $300-500 "Man Raising Glass" framed dimensions are 11 1/2 x 10 3/8 x 1 5/8 in. It appears that the "Man Raising Glass" has six fingers on his right hand. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
