Condition: Old retouch, areas of skinning and thin pigment, fine craquelure, heavily varnished. N.B. The composition seems to emulate Metsu's The Laundress, 1650, in terms of subject and costume, but the laundress is painted from a different angle with minimal detail and a less polished technique.
