An inscription incised in the back of the frame suggests that the work is a 19th century interpretation of this favorite 17th century theme. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $400-600 Framed dimensions are 12 3/4 x 13 1/2 x 4 1/4 in. Inscribed "Tavern Scene/Mrs. L.T. Savage" on a 19th or early 20th century label affixed to the reverse.
