School of Thomas de Keyser (Dutch, 1596-1667) Head of a Man in a Lace Ruff Unsigned, inscribed "Aeta Suae 45/1640" in two places u.l. Oil on cradled panel, 21 3/4 x 17 in. (55.0 x 43.0 cm), framed. Condition: Small stroke of black paint presumably from the frame restoration at the u.l. edge, small bit of paint with embedded dirt in the l.c. edge of the collar, craquelure, minor surface grime. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $1,000-1,500 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
