Dimensions: 8.75in H x 4.75in W x 4.75in D Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong DouCai scrolling floral candle stands. The porcelain potted in candle holders shape stand, tall spherical shaped, with conical tall necks supporting the shallow bowl on top, elevated from a round dish with flat cavetto rising a steep straight sides, above a spherical belly, all supported upon a bell-shaped prominent foot. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the DouCai design color. Doucai decoration the design is outlined in underglaze blue and filled in with overglaze colored enamels except blue. Colors which fit together but also contrasting or joined colors. Decoration in a combination of underglaze cobalt blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. The main belly and the foot base rim delicately decorated in lotus flowers blooms interspersed scrolling foliage and tendril. The neck decorated with various auspicious pattern and geometric motif. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.
