Dimensions: 18" H x 16-1/4" Diam Large Chinese Ming Blue and White porcelain Jar. The ginger jar sturdily potted in a globular body, heavier on the rounded shoulder, gracefully tapered toward the prominent short neck leading to banded rim. The exterior decorated with blue underglaze hand painting of dense interlocking scrolling tendrils interspersed the Longevity "Shou" character medallions. Bordered with repeating ruyi pattern on foot and rim. The underside base with an unglazed burnt brown-orange in the firing and edge-cut on the foot rim. Underglaze blue are stable with subtle shades.
