stamped 'Wylie and Lochhead Glasgow, 2596', the panelled headboard and canopy with applied gilt stars within ogee mouldings, with two carved and fluted parcel-gilt front posts, and small matching footboard with unicorn armorial device 247 x 208 x 137cm Footnote: Wylie and Lochhead were established in Glasgow in 1829, and became well known and respected furniture and furnishings manufacturers. By the late 19th century, they were the largest firm of cabinet makers in Scotland, and in the 1870s, were the first of the Glasgow furnishers to specialise in ship and yacht interiors.
