ROLEX. A RARE AND INCREDIBLY WELL-PRESERVED MEN'S 9K ROSE GOLD MANUAL VINTAGE WRISTWATCH Model: Officer’s Date: Circa 1928 Movement: Signed, 15-Rubies, Rebberg movement, swiss made, fab. suisse Dial: Signed, white with a light tropical patina, gilt applied Arabic numerals, black outer minute division, subsidiary dial for seconds at the 6 o’clock position, blued leaf hands Case: Signed, 9k rose gold, onion crown, snap on back Strap: Black Hirsch camel grain strap with an original buckle Size: 31.5mm During the WWI, members of the Alliance Forces and British Officers were given a formal military wristwatch for the first time in history, the Officer's Rolex. This was usually fitted with a 13 Ligne movement Aegler, mostly in silver cases and Rolex kept it in production until 1930. At the time, few watches were made in yellow gold and even fewer were made in rose gold, like our model enhanced by the most reliable 15-Rubies, Rebberg movement . Our exemplar was preserved exceptionally well: the case and movement appear almost untouched, making it hard to believe the watch is almost 100 years old. The beautiful light patina on the unrestored dial reminds us of the real age of the watch, turning it into an incredible piece of history worthy of any collection. (31.5mm)
