此件扳指为和阗白玉籽料质地，玉质细腻，宛若羊脂，油性极佳。一端微凸，一端内凹，扳指壁身较厚，打磨圆润，抛光细腻。扳指在古代叫韘，汉代许慎《说文解字》“射决也，所以钩弦，以象骨韦，系着右巨指”。直至明清时期，其实用功能变弱，装饰功能增强，成为达官贵族显示身份的标配。此件扳指玉质上乘，属难得之精品。
