祭红釉是以铜为着色剂的高温釉，在还原气氛下烧造而成，因受窑温等因素的影响较大，发色纯正鲜艳者十分难得。拍品通体施霁红釉，口沿一线“灯草口”，釉面密布橘皮纹，发色凝重如牛血，玻璃质感强烈，犹存永宣时期宝石红釉之遗风。
