鼓墩为古代坐具，因形状似鼓而得名，又因上面多覆盖绣花丝巾，也称绣墩。此类瓷质青花鼓墩流行于明清时期。本品体量颇大，作八方状，平顶，中央做钱形镂空，绕以缠枝莲纹纹。弧腹，两端窄，中间略宽，上下两端分饰俯仰如意云头纹及突起的鼓钉纹。腹部满绘青花缠枝莲纹，其布局疏密有致，活泼婉转，毫无拘泥拖沓之感，其流转间精到的笔触与摹古之意蕴完美融合，配以柔和悦目的青花，殊为难得。
