Rare et grande Pendule au Char de Cérès.
The harvest goddess dressed in a drapery, a sheaf of wheat in her hand, is standing next to a chariot loaded with fruit and a bundle of wheat. Wheel housing the movement, the dial decorated with palmettes. Signed by Auguste Marchand, bronzier in Paris (active at the end of the 18th/early 19th century). It rests on a terrace supported by four large palmettes with fleuron motifs. Bronze finely worked and gilded with mercury. Circa 1820. Beautiful quality. Dimensions : 51 x 43 x 16 cm. Condition : Good condition. With key and pendulum.
