On the dial, signed by Chevrau in Paris (received Master in 1776, active rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine), an allegory of maritime trade represented by a ship, loaded with merchandise, on which the "Fortune" represented by a young woman with winged feet, standing at the mast, presents a scroll bearing the inscription "I sail at the mercy of fortune and protected by the god Neptune. To her left a sailor, at her feet a putto grasping a rope. Chiseled bronze and gilded with mercury. Dimensions : 44 x 35 x 17 cm. With key and pendulum. On a moulded marble base.
