Le Pho (1907-2001) studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Hanoi and Paris. He was widely known for his paintings of Vietnamese scenery, still life with flowers, family settings, and portraits. His paintings are a captivating blend of Oriental style with influences of contemporary Western art. Le Pho's work has a distinctive elegance, along with imagination and artistry, which immediately suggests a background of culture and taste. He was recognized as a notable artist and was represented in many exhibits and galleries across the U.S. and Europe. His works are in the permanent collection at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, the Vietnam Museum of Modern Art, and the Oklahoma Art Center.
