明式紅木架子床 The sturdy square-section legs have out-curving hoof feet, and the four bed posts joined on three sides by a railing enclosing joined ring braces. Rectangular top frame and four sided aprons decorated with lattice-work railing holding rings. Size of bed without top structure: Overall H. 89 in. W. 83 in. D. 48 in. H. to seating surface: 16 1/2 in. Provenance: Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1970s, the bed was made under the design and direction of Charlotte Horstmann.
