陈大方原名陈乃昌，1934年出生于北京书画世家。自幼从师于叔父陈林斋，家兄陈大章学习工笔人物绘画。工笔《婴戏图》是陈家的传世代表作，称为“百子陈”。陈大方继承了叔父陈林斋、陈大章的陈家《百子图》，《工笔仕女图》等作品的传统风格，同时在自己的作品上进行了发展创新，1988年被评为全国工艺美术**称号。现为**美术家协会会员，**工艺美术学会会员。
