HUANG MIAOZI (1913 – 2012) . 黃苗子 Inscriptions on ancient bronzes, Colour ink on paper 95 x 179cm. Executed in 1998. Huang Miaozi was born in Zhongshan, Guangzhou and studied calligraphy under Deng Erya (1884 – 1954). He moved to Shanghai in the 1930s and worked as a caricaturist. From 1992 he lived in Australia where he was a professor at the Griffith University in Queensland. (95 x 179cm.)
