瓷底有纹水注，也称“水滴”、“砚滴”。是古代文人磨墨时用来装水、滴水的文具，注水于砚面供研墨之用，有嘴的叫“水注”，无嘴的叫“水丞”。素三彩是指在未上釉的素胎上，施以绿、黄、茄紫三色而烧成。始于明正德年间，清康熙时继续烧制。此款卧犬形水注，风格朴素古雅，造型憨态可掬，色彩淡雅，为书斋平添一份雅致之气。
