An Important Chicago Silver Five-Piece Altar Set William Nicholas Frederick (American, 1921-2012) comprising a crucifix on stand, a pair of candlesticks, a chalice and a paten, the crucifix engraved To The Glory of God and in Loving Memory of Thomas Gregory Bugan R.I.P Presented to the Rev. Sherman S. Newman by Mrs. Thomas Bugan, November 7, 1971 to the reverse; the chalice and candlesticks bearing similar inscriptions to the undersides; together with an exhibition catalogue for Chicago Metalsmiths featuring the crucifix and further inscribed A Labor of Love. Best Wishes, William Frederick. marked 'Hand Wrought' and 'Sterling' on undersides, the paten apparently unmarked 244 ozt 8 dwt weighable Height of crucifix 25 1/2 x width 26 inches.
