此盖盒器形饱满，打磨精细，制式工整规范，盖为皮球花型，琢工精细，间距匀称，具韵律美，颇富装饰意味。白玉料色泽温润，玉质清润，光洁莹润，致密温和。 以皮球花纹饰的器物，最早出现在康雍时期，多见于官窑瓷器上面，这种工艺手段用于玉器，常见于乾隆朝代的宫廷器物，大多装饰在盖碗、盖罐、盖盒、等小件作品上面，民间很少使用这种装饰手段。
