inscription along the lotus base: श्री ३ प्रज्ञपरमिता रच्छ्मावतिन थवता नामन दयका सं ८७३ श्रा शु १ [on the first of the bright half of Sravana, NS 873 (July-August 1753) Lachamavati (Laksmavati) made (this image of ) S'ri- 3 Prajnaparamita in her own name (for her own merit)], 16.4cm high注脚Prajnaparamita, or yum chen mo (Great Mother), is the female personification of perfect wisdom and insight into the true nature of reality. She is sometimes considered "the mother of all buddhas and bodhisattvas" because her teachings lead to becoming bodhisattva and attaining buddhahood. She can be identified by one of her attributes, usually held by her upper left hand, the book of Prajnaparamita, as in the current lot.
