A superb veteran pedal car, French, circa 1904, metal chassis frame work, centrally mounted rat-trap pedals and chain drive to rear axle, wooden rimmed steering wheel (worn with some loss) connected by steel column to simple rack and pinion front wheel steering, the chassis fitted with rear elliptical spring suspension, detailed wood and metal coachwork with high back maroon upholstered seating, the matching paintwork faded and chipped commensurate with age, the embossed and shaped metal bonnet with brass brightwork, pierced fretwork grille bearing hand-painted numberplate 636 and starting handle (ratchet sound mechanism broken), hand-painted 1904 to front of scuttle, the 15 inch diameter front and 21 inch diameter rear radially spoked wheels, shod with solid rubber tyres (right rear tyre missing) and finished with brass hub caps, complete with pair of Radsonne candle illuminated lamps, each nickel plated, flange mounted with 3inch diameter lens (one lens missing).
