|罗汉坐像以桃花芙蓉石为材圆雕而成，色泽淳厚，肌理有许多红色颗粒物，如桃花落水，若浮若沉，娇艳无比。透光视之尤显其天生丽质与雍容华贵，微微透明而似玉非玉，手感极佳，一如前人所形容的“如脂如膏如腴”、“拂之有痕”。与其它坑石相比，芙蓉石的凝结脂润、细腻纯净，且极易上包浆的特征，引得古人对其倍加推崇，多有着文道：“贵则荆山之墣，蓝田之种；洁则梁园之雪，雁荡之云；温柔则飞燕之肤，玉环之体”。
