David Johnson (NY 1827-1908). Lake coast landscape, oil on board. David Johnson was a landscape painter based in New York City and associated with the second generation of Hudson River School painters. He is noted for his ability to delineate accurately rock formations and foliage. This painting is a very detailed lake coast landscape. Small shed at base of hillside along the coast, a row boat along the shore.
