This popular figure is depicted frequently in contemporary crafts as a cheerful, contented Buddhist monk with a large exposed belly led to his being caricatured as the "Laughing Buddha. Impressed two-character mark stamp and paper label (Made in Japan) on base. Measures approximately 28 inches tall. Polychrome enamel hand painted decoration,holding a sack and fan. Good condition.
