John F. Kennedy - Being graphite miscellaneous figures drawn by JFK as Senator on his United States Senate letterhead. At the top left he depicts what appears to be a funnel-shaped cylinder or scrimshaw with a tiny sailboat at its wide entrance. To its right he has scribbled a nonsensical design of small rectangles with three x's therein. Below that Kennedy has written and underlined the numbers 1492, then circles the word Chowder with a bold capital C. Does 1492 represent the year of Columbus' voyage? And was JFK hungry when the word chowder came to mind? According to his late personal secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, Kennedy's favorite lunch consisted of fish or clam chowder. Size: 6.75 x 5.25 in.
