Pyu city-states, 8th-10th century. The ring set with a round dark agate, the shoulder decorated with finely incised scroll designs. Provenance: Ex-Collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Condition: Good condition with some small dents and minor traces of age and wear. Weight: 4.5 g Dimensions: Size 2.9 x 2.8 cm, Inner Diameter 2.0 cm Alloy composition range: Gold between 17-22 karat, the remainder consisting of various metals commensurate with the period. Literature comparison: A similar piece is in the National Museum of Cambodia, inventory number Ga.4280.
