An Apulian Red-Figured Prochous with Eros Attributed to the Menzies Group, Circa 340-320 B.C. Height 7 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of Michael Minick, New York Provenance: Sotheby's, New York, 1980s. Note: This prochous (oinochoe shape 10) was attributed to the Menzies Group by A.D. Trendall in personal correspondence, March 15, 1991. Trendall notes the similarities to published parallels in determining this attribution, including Eros’ attributes of a phiale and wreath. This piece was later published in Trendall’s supplements to The Red-figured Vases of Apulia. A copy of this correspondence will be provided to the purchaser.
