Possibly from the workshop of Ferruccio Mengaroni, decorated with Danae, depicted outside of a cave, Zeus present in the golden rain coming down from a cloud, and reinforced by the figure of an eagle sitting to the right of the scene, all in polychrome colours picked out in lustre, the reverse with a pseudo Xanto mark and 'Giove converso in pioggia d'oro'in lustre 28cm diam.
