A NEAR PAIR OF CHINESE YELLOW-GROUND GREEN AND AUBERGINE 'DRAGON' DISHES. Qing Dynasty, Guangxu mark and of the period. With shallow rounded sides resting on a short foot, finely incised and further enamelled on the interior with a central medallion enclosing an aubergine and a green dragon vying for a 'flaming pearl', the underside of one with four sprigs of berries hanging from a branch, the base inscribed with a six-character aubergine reign mark, the other with four green cranes alternating with four ruyi-shaped clouds, the reign mark removed, all reserved on a rich yellow ground, 13cm diameter.
