A BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI, WESTERN TIBET, 14th/15th ct., seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, wearing monastic cloak leaving his right shoulder bare, a small garment section is draped over his left shoulder in the shape of a swallow's tail, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, pierced elongated earlobes, his curled hair is continuing into the ushnisha and topped with a lotus-bud, sealed - Provenance: Former collection Isacco, according to records purchased 1982 from Gallery Marco Polo Paris, bought 1983 by a Southern France private collector, South German private collector purchased from the above prior 2000 - Publ.
