Kangxi dynasty The high square seal platform is surmounted by an exquisitely carved coiled dragon in openwork, the seal base is carved in relief with four seal script characters reading ru Dao hua cheng. The seal platform of pale white tone, the dragon of greyish tone with areas of darker speckling. 5.9 x 3.7 x 3.7 cm Literature Compare three white jade seals carved with related dragons, attributed to the Qianlong period, sold at Christie’s New York, 1st June 1990, lot 344; and another from the collection of Charlotte Horstmann, sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 13th January 1987, lot 229.
